A daily struggle with Korean parents who admires American lifestyle, yet can’t take their daughter who intergrated the western lifestyle. Enjoy. I still blame it on the magnesium powder, though.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting Rachel. Another TCK sent me an email yesterday saying “While we are high in knowledge in areas that our peers ‘back home’ haven’t acquired the maturity for – geography, current affairs, other cultures, an awareness of other lifestyles, even politics to some degree – we lack basic ‘Western’ life skills that others take so much for granted that they don’t teach. My friends at college were horrified to hear that I had given my address out to a friendly guy I had got into a conversation with on a train and he had turned up later that night at my home” Ordering at a restaurant is another challenge! When you grew up with only two options “Chicken curry” or “Fish Curry” the endless choice is endless nightmare.
