@ Hi Yu, thanks for the welcome. Yeah it’s definitely kind of eye-opening to meet so many TCKs. It’s also strange because we’ve all had very different experiences. What are you doing down in Portland?

@ Hey Paul! Welcome! I’m new to the community too! I just went to Boston 2 weeks ago! It’s a beautiful place. Portland, where I live, has a lot of similarities… I wish we could’ve hang out while I was there! My dream from now on is to travel and meet up with TCKs there 😉 I also went to Germany a few month ago. Have you been to Stuttgart?? 🙂

@ Hey Ruth! It’s great to meet German TCKs,because I just went to Germany a few month ago. I met many Germans here in Portland and we became really good friends. Right after they went back I visited them! They are from Stuttgart 😉 I loved the city, but I wanted to travel to north too. Have you lived in Stuttgart??

@ Hi Simon,
I really love talking about TCK issues because I care about the belonging challenge, repatriation, defining identity, keeping in touch with family, cultural marginality, and so forth that many of us go through. Thank you for finding me. I am happy to talk about any topics.. hehe.. -

@ Wow, Yu. Me, too. I wish I had known you earlier so that we could meet here in Hawaii. I was schooling in Tokyo when young and I was expatraited to Fukuoka when grown up. I loved Fukuoka because it’s not too big not too small. The nature is lovely and people are so friendly. I didn’t know that your parents were here in Hawaii. If you have a plan…[Read more]

@ hi Eun Bum! I’m from Osaka! Yea, I’ve been to Tokyo before, but it’s tooo big for me. I don’t like big cities like LA, NY, etc… 🙁 but I don’t like too small either… Portland, in that sense, is a great city because of the size and friendly people. You know what? I actually went to hawaii 3 weeks ago to meet up with my parents! I wish I’d…[Read more]

@ Hi, Yu. Nice to see you. Where is your home in Japan? I have lived in Tokyo and Fukuoka. Actually, I did not like Tokyo that much, but I loved Fukuoka. The city is beautiful with tradition, culture, and everything. I really miss Fukuoka. I travelled all around Japan.

@ Hi Miyon 🙂 I personally love teaching English to people from different countries. These days, English has becoming a global language (that’s what we call it in the linguistics field…) and you have so many advantages if you speak it. I want to empower people by teaching it. I also believe that English is the language that connects us all……[Read more]
