    @ Hi Paul,

Most of my friends that I knew in Lagos moved away, but there are a couple who still live there. I actually recently found quite a few of them on facebook about a year ago, which was wonderful since I thought I would never hear from any of them again once I left Nigeria!

I enjoyed living in Lagos- all of the things that would be…[Read more]

@ I think I’m gonna drive up there after Christmas or sometime in Jan! You know, I only have some time left in the States and have lots of free time, so why not visit Seattle to see you! I’m actually meeting up with one TCK in Portland tomorrow too 🙂 it would be great! You gotta take me around Queen Anne area, though!

The life in Portland is…[Read more]

@ Yea, I know there are many poor people in Africa… but I only know it as a fact… That’s one thing I don’t like about. I know things by books or TV but I haven’t seen what things are really like. That’s why I have a travel bug… because I have to “be” there to really “see” things… ;:)

Does your job allow you to travel?? Can you work…[Read more]

@ Oh–that is too funny! When I turned 30, I was so “light and sun-hungry” that I said to a single friend of mine, “Hey–looks like you and I are never getting married, so we’ll never have that honeymoon in the Bahamas, so–forget getting married–let’s just go to the Bahamas!” And we did! And I’ve been going back every year (sometimes twice a…[Read more]

    @ Hey Shaheema
Yeah I actually was born in England to a Norwegian father and Finnish mother. Lived in India until I was 17 (going back and forth between the UK and India). Then moved to LA, Stavanger Norway, Copenhagen, Derby, London, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Back to Derby, then Oslo.

Photos are my only memory bank. Writing too.

So you are in Chennai…[Read more]

@ Was wondering if things are any different in Belgium?

@ Yep, would love to see more of Holland. I found it funny that my Dutch friends there had never heard the phrase “going Dutch”.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Going_Dutch
which basically means that everyone pays for their own meal or drinks.

@ Hi, Brice. Will you provide me with your comments and feedbacks on my paper? I would like to share my paper with you. Currently, I’m sharing it with only few people. It would be appreciated if you could let me know your email so that I can send my paper to you.

@ Hi Paul, it’s true, like a musician on tour, everyplace looks the same doesn’t it? Holland does have some beautiful spots, I hope you find time someday to discover them! 🙂

@ Hi, Ruth, I completed a write-up for a theoretical framework towards the third culture. I hope to be able to present this paper at the FIGT conference next year. Can I ask for your comments and feedbacks on my paper? It would be my honor if I can get them from you.

    @ You changed your photo!

@ Actually, I applied for David C. Pollock scholarship at FIGT conference next year. I hope to be able to present the paper there though due date for the submission is passed. Anyway, yes, you can share my paper with your dad. It would be greatly appreciated if you or your father can provide any comments or feedbacks on my paper to imrove it.…[Read more]

@ I think so too…I seem to have self-isolated by choice due to all the trauma. And I’m really okay with it staying that way, but it is really nice to be able to feel validated. And as I thought about it this morning, it was so GREAT to imagine so many thousands of people around the world who really DO get it!

@ I wanted to add too, that I can’t count the number of times I have either been outright accused of lying, or that its insinuated. That is soooo isolating! When I was young, the “group” that I felt most comfy with was when I “hitched” a ride to the Caribbean on a boat. The Rastas were the coolest of the cool and they didn’t judge me or hate me…[Read more]

    @ Hi Cynthia~

I think it’s so wonderful you volunteered for non-profit in Taiwan.. What kind of non-profit was it, Cynthia?

Alternative Spring Break.. hehe. I heard about it every year but never had a chance to participate. How was it for you?

@ Well, in my first passport photo I was screaming bloody murder. (And I think I’ve been doing that ever since!)
I graduated from high school early and came back to the States and stayed with my grandparents. I was such a mess — completely rootless. My dad retired shortly after that and…it was just “over”. My parents were busy trying to figure…[Read more]

    @ Hi Takako 🙂
Yes, I am – and it’s really neat to participate in sites like this, not only for myself, but also knowing that this is what his work was all about.

So may I ask why you became a therapist? Was it before or after you heard about TCKs? What kind of therapy do you specialize in?
I’m wondering because I’ve thought about a career in…[Read more]
