@ hi Sky, you speak Lao? That sounds great! I know it’s one of tone languages… Does it sound pretty much like Thai?? Sorry, I was a linguistics major and I just love languages. I haven’t heard the language so I’m curious… 🙂

@ hey Abigail, nice to meeting you. It seems like you are in Greece now?? That is great! One of my TCK friends took 1 yr and half off to travel the world and he stayed in Greece for one month. All his pictures were amazing…! I really want to visit there! 😉 Please do post pics!

@ Both of my parents work for a local government. They are both typical Japanese 🙂 yet hard-core world travelers! Although, sometime I wish I had internationally mixed parents like everyone else… haha. Every summer (even before I was born) they traveled to a different country. That’s probably how I got my travel bug! When in high school, I…[Read more]

@ hey Shaheema, if you are interested in convincing your friends about English being a global language, you should recommend them to read “English as a Global Language” by David Crystal or “Teaching English as an International Language” by Sandra Mckay! Those are really good books and if you are English major aaaand know about what it’s becoming…[Read more]

My brother and I visited Wattegama and Kandy for a Muslim friend’s wedding (okay–it was way back in 1989, 20 years ago–but every white person should have to spend some time being a complete minority like that–our friends were Tamil, but “passed” for Singhalese, and my brother and I were the only white…[Read more]

@ Thanks Paul, I recognise your name from a poem you had on FB – it was very good. I will add one of my own in the next day or two. I am just getting used to the website but it looks great for connecting with other TCK’s, I look forward to being part of this. Cheers Inge.

@ Hey Laura! I’ve always lived in medium/big sized cities so Guildford is the only exception to that experience. Sometimes I missed the vibrant big city life and ended up going to London even if it was just for a weekend. The good thing about my stay was the friends I made. Met many interesting people both from the Academy and the University. It…[Read more]

@ Thank you so much. Well, I will let you know. How about a guess? How many new friends in two months and how many in four months. Might be silly, okay, but still interesting. It is wintertime, cold and rather online going then outdoor actions….Who is joining in?
