@ Hey AndrΓΒ©! Yeah, I’m an AIESECer too! My LC is actually DLSU. But because of my thesis, and other stuff like work, I am no longer very active in AIESEC that’s why I get frustrated whenever I get notified from the Yahoogroups and I know I can’t go. But sometimes I can attend, but I keep on thinking how will I just go and attend when I don’t k…[Read more]

@ Hey Miyon! I did have a tropical Christmas, but I spent the 26th to the 29th in Seoul, so I still got a taste of winter. But I had a month of no internet, which explains my very very delayed reply. Anyway, cheers! : )

@ Hi Josh, welcome to TCK community.
I am Korean but like youself, I spent my teenage times in good ol’ Midwest. In fact I went college in Indiana! I still have a lot of friends there and I do miss all that Midwesterns stuff.
It does feel weird to move back and forth between not only different countries, but also urban and…[Read more] -

@ Hi, Shannon! Welcome!
We lived at Leonrodstrasse 20 in Munich for 5 years back in the 70s. Our apartment overlooked the Olympic Village. I was there that terrible day in 1972. . .
What are you teaching in Munich? I’m hoping to get back to Munich someday–I want to show my partner the wonderful city π -

@ Hey Josh! I added you to Skype. Since then we have hosted Libby. What a treat to have her here, but too short, for sure.
She had lots of great things to say about you, too. I’m looking forward to hearing your ideas and the scope. Libby and i also talked about a round-table in the fall, as it looks like our family may have some extended time in…[Read more]

@ Abilgail, I’m sorry it’s taken me forever to reply.
I can totally relate to your hesitation, especially before such a major decision. I don’t think this gets any better with time – though in your case this is now tied in with lots of other questions – choosing what and where to study etc.
International relations is a good idea and in fact this…[Read more] -

@ Okay–here’s the “bull” story (and no–NOT in the sense that Americans call something “bull” (or something even more vulgar) π We traveled with our friends, Zuhair and Rafik, to Galle, the day before we were leaving for a short visit to India to see our friend, Padmini. (Galle, in case you don’t know, was built by the Portuguese, and they…[Read more]

@ Hi Rachel!!
So sorry, I just realised I’d never responded to your comment!! It’s been a crazy couple of months…I was born in the Jaffna Peninsula, so that’s the Northern Province of Sri Lanka (yes, that’s where all the fighting is/was). So I am Tamil by ethnicity. However, I left when I was five (to go to Africa), and never lived in that…[Read more]

@ Margaritas for painkillers sound good to me! Take me with you! I want to go…maybe I can watch you scream in agony while they work on your teeth LOL
Yea it is very expensive in the States. A root canal I need to get will cost me 600+ bucks without insurance. I went back to China to get it done…only cost me 32 dollars…I was told recently…[Read more]

@ ROFL! American dentists are just too damned expensive. I mean, I love their ability to engage in “competition” and “free enterprise” but on my salary I’d be toothless by the time I could pay for it.
Mexico offers a beach, margaritas by the pitcher, and 1/5 of the price. Here, it would cost me about $18,000 —in Mexico, are you sitting down:…[Read more]

@ You’re having the rest of your dental work done in Mexico?? What, the American dentists are incompetent?? LOL j/k My “American mentality” kicking in :p
