@ Hey Heidi that book sounds really interesting…im learning how to view home in a positive way because im so used to thinking of it as not having one or not belonging anywhere so as an immediate response I also have rejected the idea of a home. However im trying to view it as all over inside me…so i want to know more about your book.

@ Hey Ida, where abouts in India did you live?

I lived in Ooty (Tamil Nadu) for 5 years and loved it! My parents were missionaries so I travelled all over and just can’t get India out of my system. The rest of my childhood, I lived in England and Norway.

I actually just wrote a book about being a TCK (Home Keeps Moving – out this summer) and…[Read more]

    @ Hi Katrien!
I’d love to meet up and swap travel stories. I’d really like to hear about your experiences as a Big Sister too. I’m in the city three days a week and work at Macquarie University two days a week (at least, for the next few weeks). Let me know when you’re free 🙂

    @ Hey!
I was just browsing through the profiles of TCKs living in Sydney and came across yours! I’d love to chat with you more about your post grad studies as I’m considering doing a major next year (looking into the UNSW Social Development one) but still not quite sure which direction I’m headed.
I would also LOVE to hear your stories about…[Read more]

@ Hi Emily 🙂 Tips for living in Indo huh? Well, let’s see. I hope you enjoy lots of fresh fruits and vegis. The fruits is what I loved the most! Especially rambutan 🙂 Indonesians are very friendly as I’m sure you’ve found out and they love to show you their culture. Some typical Asian things like don’t shake hands with your left hand, people…[Read more]

@ oh, a BBQ would get my vote any day! It would also be a more flexible arrangement than anything we’ve had before, I’d love that! Yes, it might be more tricky for some people to get there, but at least for all of us London-based peeps it should be fine. Let me know what the plans are! 🙂

@ I can add to that even. In four years of boarding school at two different locations overseas I had three sets of dorm parents! Oh, and I grew up without a father (deceased when I was only six).

Regarding religion/spirituality, I suggest 1.) changing denominations or 2.) going straight to God and drop churches altogether. Looking into other…[Read more]

@ Hey, Ruth–your answer to “Where are you from?” is the best one I’ve heard yet! (“What year?”) Great idea–wish I had thought of that one in my younger years when it was still so painful to be asked “Where are you from?” 😛

    @ Hi Gabrielle,

I was just looking for people in Melbourne also, and I came across your profile.

I am also very interested in identity and international mobility, in particular the children of free-movers in Europe, as well as the children of refugees. I am hoping to do my Phd on this area once I finish my masters. It’s cool to see someone with…[Read more]
