    @ Myra,
I assume that you were the one that sent the message regarding the earthquake in Japan. I just wanted to recommend the organization CRASH Japan (http://crashjapan.com/). I have worked with them previously after the Kashiwazaki earthquake in 2007 and I know the director personally. They are a good organization.

@ Hi Tina, I just sent you an e-mail aswell.

Thanks for getting back to me. It’s nice to know someone else is going through a similar journey to me! Yes, the speaking invitations are great – congrats…I am less enthusiastic to take them up yet (I’m not a natural public speaker). I hope the awful Japanese earthquake doesn’t affect your plans n…[Read more]

@ Thanks for your reply, Thomas! I have already left Australia, but I gave out most of my paintings to my friends or friend’s friends…Same thing happened when I worked in China last year, and now I am working as a free-lance designer, translator, interpreter in Japan. I kind of wish my parents are diplomat, too, so that I could have extended my…[Read more]

@ Hi Enshu, about time I replied to your comment – thanks so much for the interest – yeah, the TCKness has given me a voice for my (art)work, it made a lot of thoughts gel for me which before were present but not as consciously articulated. Culture and landscape, the arbitrary relationship between the two, what does “indigenous” really mean today,…[Read more]

@ Hey Heidi, congratulations on the success of your book. I’m going to have to buy a copy! All the reviews are wonderful. Mine is doing well also and has generated a lot of speaking engagements. I’m heading off to Japan next month to speak at a few international schools in Yokohama and Tokyo.
    Isn’t this fun?!

@ Hey Ben. I was going to message you last week to wish you luck with finals, but I was a bit caught up with them myself and didn’t realize what was going on until they were over. 🙂 Anyway, hope they went well for you. I’ll try to have some of this snow cleared up by the time you get here, but no guarantees. Safe travels!

    @ Maira,
Thanks so much for your return message. Sorry I’ve been a bit slow in getting back to you but we have been in the Amazon and the internet connections have been precarious. I really appreciated what you had to share. Is it OK if I use is in our book as an example – but with out citing names? We are actually working on three books. One is…[Read more]

I study Global Studies and will graduate in June with bachelors degree.
