@ Walt Disneys was “to make people happy”. Thyssen Krupp is probably “to make people feel psychopathic.” All people fall upon different thoughts, although our body principle is the same: tasting, smelling, hearing,…………. Why is that?
We have not got different thoughts! Only different products.
they need to get rid of their stuff.…[Read more]

@ Tom is married to Bev, and they have two adopted kids from Peru. They live in Dallas, Tom has a masters in anthropology and works for SIL. Don was working for JAARS and living in Kansas. Don’t know anymore if that is accurate. Since Ben is a Denver native and we were homeless for a while, we ended up back here–first living with his parents f…[Read more]

@ Yes, I figured out that Ben and Doug Barkey did a lot of visual stuff together. You all had a bank of slide projectors set up in your Sem Village apt right? Did Ben help Doug and I on the slide show we did for the year-end banquet? It seems to me that he did. What ever happened to Jerry? Tom? Donny? What are you doing in Colorado?

    @ Don,
We graduated the same year. I remember your name, probably because we had friends in common? My maiden name is Magee. Did you know Tom Woodward, Jerry Manus, Mark and Marty Tanquist, Patty Dobson? You may also have known Ben Hansen–I am married to him.
I’m an MK from Brazil and Portugal.

@ Hi Mikael,  I just spent more than an hour composing a long response to some of the deeper issues you mentioned  and I was about to send it when I got kicked out that box and I can’t find what I had written.  I was trying to respond in the box that said “compose”.  That was the second time it happened, but the first time I was doing it anot…[Read more]

@ Hi Steven,  We seem to have been reared in the same neighborhood and both share an interest in finding TCK friends and/or a relationship even though our situations with respect to the latter are complicated.  Wanna chat?

@ Yes, that would be me and as far as I know, the one and only Don Copeland from Bethel. And how would I know you? I graduated in 83. I see you are in Denver, but couldn’t find out much else (I new to this TCKid site).

@ My Mom was born in Cheb. Do you ever get out that way? Bonny

    @ Don,
Do you happen to be the Don Copeland that went to Bethel College in the late 70’s/early 80’s?

    @ Hi Ann,
Yes, whoever told you that I am a ATCK or global nomad having been raised for  seven years in PNG, is right on target. I spent my childhood from age 8 through16/17 in PNG and Australia (where I went to boarding school for one year before returning to the passport country). At age 11 I attended a boarding school in PNG. My father w…[Read more]

@ Hi Mikael.  Yes I do understand.  I have had similar experiences.  And some different ones.  My Dad started out as a school teacher in the tiny Upik village in Alaska.  I thought of it as home and very surprised when my mother was told me we were not at home and that we needed to go back to a place she called “the States”.  I refused to…[Read more]

    @ Hi Ann,
I have traveled thru the old world from birth, from the land of Queen Saba to Buddha’s path thru Himalaya. In this I have seen many childhood friends in a similar situation come and go. The world of multiple nation constellation groups coming together for a cause not realizing the consequences of family’s blending in a world out…[Read more]

@ Hi Martin, I haven’t heard of many Global Nomads from PNG.  Were you born there? -Ann

    @ Hi Yan,
You are one of only a few in this group of TCKs who is almost a neighbor.  Are you still travelling?  I have had to stop because my feet got too sore and my baggage too heavy, but with this website I still can still soar virtually.
    Welcome,
    Ann

@ Thanks for your reaction, but I don’t think my story is too extreme for this group of TCKs.  My early life, which I count as part of the TCK experience, just takes a bit more explanation for some.  I think it’s like, maybe for you if you had been born in pre-revolutionary Algerie and went to a Basque area of France you would have been se…[Read more]

@ You are my first ever social networking “friend”.  I have no clue how to communicate with anyone this way.  I am not on Facebook or You Tube or any other networking site, not because I don’t like them, but just because I haven’t yet learned the computer skills.  I used a computer at work as a research scientist since the days of IBM punch…[Read more]
