@ Hi James, Welcome to TCKid 🙂 You have a great background. I was excited to see your location to be Orlando- I live in Tampa. I just moved here and I haven’t come across many TCKs in the FL area. Are you based there? Hope we can connect some time. Warmly, IsraaÂ

@ Hello, thank you for your comment! It’s great to connect with other TCKs here. I will definitely take a look at your book- it sounds very interesting. I’m taking a break from the crisis counseling for now because it takes a lot out of me 🙂 I lived in Kuwait for a while and it changes every time I go back to visit friends….I’m curious to k…[Read more]

@ Yep, they’re my parent’s friends. I think they met at Prairie in Canada or something. I almost went down to do a short-term mission with them once.

@ You’ll be great reading! Good luck in London.
I don’t have an iphone, but I’ll get my friend’s and check your stuff out. Those have got to be some pretty quick stories!
Let me know how it goes over there if you get the chance. Any writing or living about travelling qualifies you as a comrade!

@ Hi Karen
I saw that you lived in the Dominican Republic. How long did you live there and where? I live in Santo Domingo since 2 years and 3 month. I´m also a teacher and I want to work in bilingual or international schools.

@ Hey! Thanks for your message. If you’ve got an iphone you can download the app called Five Stop Story and I’m on there. (Five Stop referring to the fact that reading each story will only take five tube stops.) Unfortunately if you don’t have an iphone (like me!), the only other place I’m published atm is a London circulated literary magazine…[Read more]

@ Hi Wendy! Thanks for the comment. Yes, there is TCK community in Seoul, and we hold regular meetings. Even if there’s no regular meeting, feel free to contact members – I know a lot of members who don’t have many friends in Seoul, including myself lol. Here’s the facebook group, so join and check out the updates…[Read more]

@ Great idea, Dale. A much needed process for missionaries and their families. Commendable! I wish there had been something like that for our family when we came back to the States and had to make those hard transitions without help.
Do you by chance know the Duane Howe’s down in the Amazon area?

@ Thanks Jonathan, yes, I’d be interested in your perspective and what you have to say, or write. Â We have a rather large adult TCK community here in Norfolk, NE and there has been an ongoing dialog over what we can do to help create a community that helps young TCKs transition better. Â Always a huge challenge. Â Â DaleÂ

@ No kidding! Here’s about the only place we can be “normal,” whatever that means. I ended up after MK experience living in Indonesia, Spain, Belgium, and everywhere in the US, constantly moving and moving. Trips all over Europe and Asia and Australasia. It’s fun, but draining sometimes. Great to hear you went to an international school. Mine was…[Read more]

@ Sweet! It’s a great novel. I haven’t read 1Q84 yet. I’ll get it for sure. I’m going through Bolano’s 2666 right now, which is a big one.
I’ll check out your art. Thanks for the link. Very cool avatar.
My book’s at https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/139789.

@ Only a year. I lived in south Madrid in the Vallecas section (a bit scary) beneath Atocha Station. It was marvelous most of the time, and also hard. Went to all the towns around. Loved San Sebastian and also Portugal (especially Lisbon!).
