@ Welcome to TCKid. I will be heading to Cuba in December and perhaps flying to Mexico City afterwards if you are there? Would be cool to get some local knowledge on where to eat, hang out etc!

    Hope you are well.

@ Did you have a good time at the retreat?

Oh haha, little misunderstanding there. Oops.

    So I’m guessing you’re like 24?
Hmmmm… the next couple of years… I’m going to finish up my Associates Degree in General Ministry from the International School of Ministry. Then I’m going to expand that into a BA through online courses, I think I will…[Read more]

@ (Sorry for not responding sooner; I was on a retreat this weekend! 🙂
I meant that my parents went to the same college that I did as well; they went to Hope.
Yeah, Pimsleur is great! It took just a few weeks for me to learn some basic conversational skills in Turkish. I imagine that if I were to use it for all levels I might actually be able to…[Read more]

    @ Welcome, Margaret!
I had an uncle, my mother’s youngest brother, Uncle Peter, who was born with Down Syndrome.  I always thought my mother was especially kind (and taught my brother and me to be) because of Uncle Peter.

I love seeing young people who have a kind heart for kids with special needs.  Go, Margaret!  The world needs more of…[Read more]

@ Oh, wow! What years were they there? Maybe our parents know each other! Sounds interesting. Arabic sounds very harsh compared to Hebrew. Yeah! I actually used Pimsleur to learn the basics of French. Isn’t it great!?

Where is Illicano spoken? I’ve never heard of it before.

How many years of school do you have left?

@ I studied psychology in undergrad as well, though I switched from computer science, haha. Both my parents went there as well. 😛
I don’t know any missionaries in Turkey. It’s an interesting language, though. I don’t know how to explain what it sounds like, it’s a very unique language! They purse their lips though for a lot more words than they…[Read more]

@ It’s located in San Dimas, although it was founded in Echo Park, Los Angeles. Both of my parents went there for Bible college. 🙂
What did you study for your undergrad?
Turkish! Really? What does that sound like? We’ve supported other missionaries over the years in Turkey, it really is a difficult place to spread the Gospel. Yeah, I’ve found…[Read more]

@ Hmm, I am not familiar with LIFE! I am a grad student at Azusa Pacific University (LA County). For my undergrad I went to Hope International University, which is in Orange County.

Unfortunately, I do not know any other languages fluently! When I younger they tried to teach us Tagalog, one of the languages spoken in the Philippines, but it n…[Read more]

@ Yeah really! I think my attraction for it started when I read a story book as a little girl on the life of Amy Carmichael. Cool! I’ve lived out of the States for 12 years as well.

What college are you going to? I have several friends that are at LIFE Pacific College.

No, I am actually not in California right now. But I’m from there and most of…[Read more]

@ I have had a desire to go to India too! It seems like such an interesting culture and with great people. But we’ll see what God has for me.
I did lived in the Philippines–for almost half of my life (about 12 years). It’s a beautiful place and has very friendly people.
I am in Azusa, CA, which is near Pasadena. Much of my family lives here, so…[Read more]

    @ Hello Cormack!
Yes, I do see myself as being a missionary for life. I’m not sure if I will only be working in France, and Mexico but that’s where I am right now. It is possible that God might open other doors for me, and I’m totally open to that! 🙂 I think I want to visit India someday. It just attracts my attention I guess. Cool! Have you…[Read more]
