    @ Hola Michelle

    Bienvenida a TCKid.
    ¿Cúanto tiempo viviste en Bolivia?
Nunca visité Bolivia pero pasé una parte de mi infancia en Argentina y en España.

    @ Hi Linda

I read about the Santo Domingo School in the novel “La fiesta del chivo” from Mario Vargas Llosa.
I´m interested in the history of the Dominican Republic. The life in this country when you lived here was certainly different from how it is now. If I can ask, what did you parents do in this country and why did they come to the DR? If y…[Read more]

    @ Hi Catalina-
Sounds like you are adventurous. I lived in the DR during Trujillo’s time but my family left right before his downfall which apparently was good timing. Attended Colegio Santo Domingo as a boarder and day student so lived in the capital before relocating to Barahona. There was never a dull moment in Barahona with the beach, fishing,…[Read more]

    @ Hi

Welcome to TCKid. I saw that you grew up in the Dominican Republic. I´m currently living in Santo Domingo.
Where did you live in the DR and when did you live here? Did you live in the country during the time of Trujillo or after Trujillo? Did you visit the DR again after you left the country?
    Kind regards,
    Katrin

@ Thank you for liking my photos. Did you grow up in East Africa? I lived in Kenya in the late 60’s and early 70’s. These pics were taken a year ago. I was blessed to be able to make a trip back. I hadn’t been there since a visit, in 1989. It sure has changed a lot though! And not all good. But it will always be my home.

@ Oh Suzie, you have such lovely photos! You make me homesick for Africa. The last time I set foot on the continent of my birth was more than 6 years ago. What lovely acacia trees, and those elephants….greetings Janneke “out of Africa”

@ Hi Georgia,  I just thought I’d say Hi. I’m a teacher in KL and I’ve just moved here from England. In fact, I was in Penang about 2 weeks ago. I have just joined TCKid. Take care and say hi, if you want.

@ Hello Ann, I just thought I’d say hi because I’m also a teacher here in KL, in an international curriculum  school. Take care and say hi.

@ I apologize for not responding to you earlier. I am not normally this rude. I just haven’t been signed into Tckid for quite a long time and never saw I had messages.

@ Yes, I guess what I meant by artificial is that compared to the developing parts of the world that I’ve lived in for most of my life, it just seems so straight and organised. I think now I find Norway even more extreme in that respect. My recent short visits to Denmark made me realise that it is a bit more relaxed, which I enjoyed. It’s a…[Read more]

@ I think if that’s your impression, then that is also what your perception will be. My father was Danish and I have a Persian mother.. I’ve grown up with both cultures close. I definitely would not be able to survive in Copenhagen (where I’m only settled down temporarily), if it was not for my broad social network which includes people that…[Read more]

@ Hi! I was born in Iceland. I’m also a missionary kid … and mother. I always wanted to visit Iceland as my parents left when I was just a baby. My parents said it was a beautiful country.

@ Hello. I noticed you live in Denmark and have a Scandinavian sounding name. I also lived in Singapore and Malaysia when I was young. I am Danish by nationality, but never managed to learn the language properly. I’m living in Norway for now and my kids are learning Norwegian, but they have Danish passports so I’m hoping eventually they can learn…[Read more]
