@ Tina are you a member of LinkedIn? If not I would recommend that you join. It has been a useful networking and profrssional resource for me. Send me your email again to robinlreed@gmail.com, so I can forward you some notes from Ashley :).

@ Thanks, Levi…I am grateful for any ways the “clay potness” of my life can be used..you must have read it long ago as you even know the original title! it was changed when a publisher took it on after a couple of years…Letters never Sent is what it became..I told them that was the wrong title as I had written scads of letters through the y…[Read more]

@ I was a transfer student too, so I think I’ve only ever been to Gracies for coffee before, but I’ve heard the stories. The food at my old college was pretty appalling though, so I feel like I’ve paid my dues. As far as stimulating conversation goes, I think it’s a combination. People in this area are notoriously cold and hard to get to know, but…[Read more]

@ I was Privileged not to have been victimized by Gracies like most people. They classified me as a “transfer” student for some reason so they sent me to live in the RIT inn. I agree on the weird things. I hadn’t been home for 3 years, so that validation has been a long time coming. You are surrounded by people who do strange things and look at me…[Read more]

@ Ben, thanks for your comment on my blog!Â
Â
It’s a rough, strange situation I’m in. I grew up in a culture where people say it is so perfectly fine to be yourself and you have to stand up for being yourself. Now the culture I am living in (and supposdely belong to) is a culture where it is so not okay to be all about yourself, and doing s…[Read more] -

@ Hello Margie!Â
Is it true you may still be publishing Among Worlds? Are you thinking of going online at all? (That would be awesome.) Had dinner with Libby S last night which was so great…and she thought you might still be editing?? If so, I might have an essay or so for you…Do you have my email? Peace and grace on the new year! -

@ Victoria,
I think you wrote me in SEPT and I”m not sure I responded…duh, sorry about that. What the Father is doing in Chn. right now is really spectacular and I am just amazed to be able to be a part of it. We have just arrived back after a 6 month sabbatical and I am transitioning again. It’s good, but with rough spots. (We arrived last…[Read more] -

@ Well I’ve been in the area for about 7 years, so when I started at RIT I had already adjusted a bit. It is quite an odd place, and seem to attract a really special kind of wierdo, doesn’t it? I too enjoy my coursework, but choose to socialize mostly with friends from work. Have you already done your co-op? Are you doing this whole quarter online…[Read more]

@ Hi Allison,
Happy and An adventurous New Year to you! You’ll be going for your further studies, Poor kid, but somehow the college life is Rich! I love my college life, I spent my college in Taiwan, instead of US! Both my Mom and I adopted Taiwan as our father land!Â
Thanks for your request for friendship, it’s wonderful to be your frien…[Read more] -

@ Hey Miyon!!
I’m so glad you got a job!! What exactly is it and do you like it? By the way, Happy New Year!! Did you stay up late last night? We got into the states the night of the 30th and we had jetlag so bad!
I know this is random, but what was the longest single flight you have ever been on? -

@ There is one other TCK at RIT, he actually came to RIT with me at the same time. I am senior now so some aspects I have adjusted, but actually RIT was quite a rough transition. Definitely had a lot of culture shock both from the US perspective and from the RIT perspective (it has some…unique characters). I love the coursework I am working on,…[Read more]

@ Hi fellow RITer! I thought I was the only TCK in the area. I’m so glad you got in touch. I really like RIT, but I live off campus, so I don’t really spend much time there aside from classes. How are you liking it? How’s the adjustment to Rochester going?

@ Thanks for the welcome Miyon. Yes, I have done and continue to do a bunch of different philanthropic stuff…montly focused on Africa where I grew up.
So…what is your TCK story? -

@ Hello Miyon!
Thanks for the warm welcome! This is my second day using TCK, still getting used to it and exploring the possibilities it offers. I’m looking forward to see what it has to offer!
Cheers, Pablo. - Load More
