@ Steve-  When did you live in Taipei?  My best friend, who I met after Iran, lived there for a year in about ’74 or so.  Her name was Pamela Smith.  Her dad was the principal at TAS (Taipei American School, not Tehran American School).  His name was Dick Smith.  Ring a bell?
