@ I agree! Even the language we speak shows so much about the worldview! I learned in class about linguistic determination and how language determines our thoughts. I agree with this hypothesis to some extent but I also think that thoughts also determine our language for sure haha

oh.. and to answer your question, I am currently working as a…[Read more]

    @ Aw.. Allison,
it’s so great to connect with those who “get” it, doesn’t it?
It’s so cool you speak and understand so many languages. What was Yangon like? To me, for a long time my true home was in Japan where I spent a part of my childhood.

I will probably get along with you well in terms of “friends” because I am Korean and I have a strong…[Read more]

    @ Welcome to TCKID, Lisa!
From your profile, I think you are doing one of the best things you can offer to this world! We need so much help with relocations, especially because they come with so many bundles to deal with including psychological effects, VISA issues, education, work and living conditions and so forth.

    Where were you before? 😀

    @ Hi Jin Kim!
Excited to hear of other TCKs around New York 🙂 I am often there summers.
So what’s your story? I’m curious about where you’ve lived/were born/parents are from. And yes, I hate the question “where are you from” so I wont ask you that! loolz

    @ Hey Miyon!
So great to meet you, I was happy to read the personal questions you posted so honestly in your profile. And actually, I feel like I have many many of the same ones…
I’m only bummed out that you don’t live in New York or Halifax ! Hahhahh.
Well cheers! =) And its great that there are people like you that want to help other…[Read more]

@ Hey Thomas! Youve lived in a real variety of countries, it seems. How do you look back on your TCK childhood, just wondering. And did you find college back on “home turf” difficult at all to transition into?
Nice to meet you, ciao ~Allison

@ Suzie, yes I did get married in a wedding sari. We got married in Kerala, India…the location of many childhood holidays! It was a magical day…I think sari’s are simply beautiful (so elegant)…although, my wedding day was the first time I’d worn one! Nice to meet someone else in the sari-wedding club. 😉

Hope you receive the book soon?!
    H. x
